Hong Kong's Most Sustainable Restaurants As Picked by the WWF
Which HK restaurants did the World Wildlife Fund praise for sustainability?
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) - Hong Kong has just launched its One Planet Restaurant Awards, which showcases the Hong Kong [1] "hotels and restaurants promoting sustainable consumption and the use of natural resources." From a large pool of candidates that applied, the winners have finally been selected for the award. Before revealing who they are, it's important to understand the context and importance of this award and issue.
Jovy Chan, Wildlife Conservation Manager, sums it up best by revealing, "WWF is working with hotels and restaurants to support a transition to sustainable food production. As food accounts for 21 per cent of Hong Kong's ecological footprint, food can have a massive impact on the environment. It's time to change the way we live to eat more plants, eat less meat and avoid food waste."
Candidates for the award were judged on several important criteria that are crucial to sustainability. Namely, they were judged on [2] "food sourcing and traceability, hormone and antibiotic-free products, food safety, food-waste management and the adoption of reusable tableware." In all, there were three categories in which awards could be won: restaurants, hotels and influencers.
Below is a rundown of the winners in each category:

Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers and Grand Hyatt Hong Kong
Sino Hotels.
Restaurants
